wylex db

anyone still fitting wylex consumer units , have they sorted out their problems with the mcbs melting , is it worth still using them?

the MCB problem was sorted 2 years ago. the CUs are OK, but i still prefer BG.

i always fit the wylex boards and never had any issues. i have also fitted the BG ones the off chance the customer gets the materials. just stay away from the mk ones. pain in the arse to fit.

picked one up earlier , looks ok apart from the internal wiring of the rcds ,oofft needs tidied up its a mess , i usually use proteus , solid links between main switch and rcds , alot neater

Went right off Wylex after the product recall and am still finding boars that are part of the recall (I didn't install them). IMHO the only thing worse than a Proteus board is???

Square d all the way !! Wylex has the exactly the same DBS to sector , Crabtree and some one else I'm sure ? . Yea I agree mk wot a mess they've made of designing that db shame on you mk !

Note the new placing of earth terminal in the 3phase square d boards poor design if you're cables ar top entry witch is about 90% off the time

Tel....BG are just a better board....
the enclosure is better...the busbar is meatier....the room in em is better....

no issues there....

It isn't a major issue , but I've had the last couple of DBS packd out and it was ok but workd better down the side
