Wylex High Interg CU's and the new MCB's/RCBO's

Hi guys,
I just wanted to take the time to check with everyone about what they thought about the "new" type wylex mcbs etc, and if you have been having any trouble with making the cover fit properly when fitting them as I have.

Move over to Hager, mate. Far superior for only slightly more $$. Everything Electrium is just cheap chinese cr@p now.

yeah i have been thinking about it after the recall problem they had... just not sure what to change to. are they isolators on the right hand side on the hagers?

i fitted a wylex 3 phase board not so long back, never ever again. it was the only one off the shelf the wholesalers had and i would rather not bother next time. everything was lined up nicely but when the cover was put on it was a nightmare.

yeah, really dont know what wylex are up too, I spoke to the rep about the problem and he basically said that i was making the problem up. seems to me that they had the problem with the recall and rushed through the "new design" and didnt bother making sure they fitted neatly in the original boards...

you would have thought after a recall like on the scale it was that they would be trying a little harder to please when a customer tells them there is an issue

well yeah.... i can only think that they are going to get round to updating the cu's at some point.

They are defo on the 'charm offensive'. My local Edmundsons had a Wylex 'product day' recently. From what I heard it wasn't as successful as they'd have liked.

I've never fitted a 3PN board, but did have cause to be working inside a new Hager 48w jobby about 9 months ago. Very impressed.

I've just fitted a Wylex 15way board with a mixture of RCBOs & MCBs and they all looked on the skew and the cover was not very easy to fit.

The last board of this size & configuration I fitted was a Hager & was a lot better.
