My husband and I have finished building a house (September 2010) where we have implemented X10 switches for all of our lighting, but we are having lots of problems with them now. The switches are failing and then the next day they seem to work again. (At least the switches fail when my husband is away and work when he's home!) Is there anything we can do? Is there a source of X10 switches that is better than another? Is there another system that could be put into place instead of X10 (that wouldn't require us to rip the house apart)?

Any help would be appreciated.

For a retro fit lighting system, you need to be looking at a RAKO system. Rip the X-10 stuff out I don't even know why they still sell the stuff is rubbish.

Thank you, Simlec. I don't know what a RAKO system is, but I will research it. I have to say, I'm about ready to go back to light switches!
