Hi,

Looking at buying a megger 1552/1553 just wondering whether its worth getting the bluetooth and powersuite add-on.

I don't test all that much but I have to admit I am abit of a gadget nerd and I like the latest technology equipment!

Does anybody know the best place to buy on the net or in-store or am I best picking it up from the wholesalers?

IMO its worth getting the bluetooth and powersuite if you test larger installations.
If it's only domestic then i don't really think it is worth it.

Ok yeah it's really only domestic at the minute, I thought as much, think i'll resist temptation and go with the 1552 then thanks!

Why not try the 1553 without the powersuite upgade then you can always add it on later.

Have a look at my sticky post "which test kit and why" to help you decide Ive got the 1552 but with the pat 4 I got the powersuite nice program if the downloads are ok it will be well worth it

I did read through it mate but tbh it just gave me more of a headache, seems like alot of people swear by alot of different MFT's.

Is the PAT4 an addon to the 1552 or is it the PAT4DV? Also does the powersuite come with the package or is that another addon? I know it can be an addon for the 1553 but i assumed that was because it can be on a PDA.

No mate the pat 4 is a pat testing piece of kit saves a lot of paperwork it records all the tests which I download to powersuite and print out for customer some blokes have mentioned a problem dowloading with bluetooth but that may be just them. My dowloading is by cable so I dont have that problem

I don't think downloading by cable will be all that of a problem really, I have a laptop so a cable from machine to laptop is no hassle. Any chance of a link to this PAT4 equipment chris as google doesn't seem to be showing anything!

Did your powersuite software come with the 1552 or you have to buy separate?
