An email alot of you would have received as well from REAL, but I thought the last part of this paragraph will send a shiver down the spine of some installers!

Please be aware that informing consumers they will definitely receive 43.3p for 25 years is mis-selling and it is a breach of the REAL Consumer Code. You must not agree a contract with a consumer on this basis. Please note that it is not acceptable to have a small print notice qualifying a misleading or incorrect claim. Should one of your consumers rely on receiving 43.3p/kWh for 25 years, but in the end does not, your company could end up refunding them the difference.

I think things like this should be in the press, not just sent to those that should know better.

We're already considered no better than double glazing salesmen. The biggest tragedy is that all of it could have been avoided.

unfortunately thats because a lot of the solar firms out there are double glazing firms, who have bought all their worst practices with them.

I have had more call off people wanting to confirm tariff levels than anything else .... Been told that some installers have offered it in WRITING to them ..... that 43.3 is back .........

The reputation the industry is getting is just embarrassing. This doesn't help.

Went to a friends to play golf teh other day, knocked on the door, wife looked out the window saw the car didn't answer the door. when they realised it was me, she said she was fed up of answering the door to solar sales guys so had ignored it... That was when i realised what a mess it was. These guys don't even have a decent roof (i did check...)

Such a mess. I'm sick of it.
I should be happy I confirmed a 15KWp system today. Will be a really interesting/challenging installation too.
But this whole situation is just embarrassing.

I've got a REAL audit soon, the chap was taken back that I emailed all the information they requested within the day of receiving the letter. We do have a QMS............or shouldn't we !?!?! It's a right shambles, i guess thats the way QANGO's operate ! I really was taken in, taking an active part with various trade show Q&A's and was proud of what we had achieved! Shafted !
