When doing a Zs on a ring final s/o circuit my Di Log 9083p is giving an error message 'fuse' and will not perform the test. The circuit has several spurs, including 1 fused spur which is wired as part of the ring (i.e. 2X T+E on the supply side and the load side going to an extracor which I have disconnected), 1X light spur which I have turned off, and a few spurs going to S/Os (unfused). Interestingly, when I do the test on a S/O spur, the test works and gives me a reading. All the wiring looks OK to me on first inspection.

The tester is registering that there is a valid line, earth and neutral when plugging in.

Has anyone had this problem?

Not familar with the meter but it sounds like one of the fuses on the meter is blown

I thought that at first but everything seems fine and it works on this test on all other circuits I tried it on.

I should add that this installation is an old folks home where all the flats go to one main meter and one common earth. Is this likely to give us problems in measuring earth loops?

blown fuse mate!!!!

i have same problem!! very frustrating!! you know what type you need as it took Newys 3 attempts to track them down...!!

if not i will post you one!! :) (yes i have spares now)

Hi

Been having the same problem with my Di-log. Its not the fuse. Changed that anyway and it didn't make any difference.

I finally resolved it by removing the fuse and just squeezing the fuse holder contact together to make them a little firmer. Replaced fuse and all ok since. Seems the meter says FUSE if there is an open circuit anywhere.

Hope it works for you

Cheers

Mark.

PS. Wish they did a neck strap for it. nuisance testing lighting circuits !!! Apart from that gripe its been a great meter.
