Managed to get back to this abortion today, stripped all the PBR (don't think its VIR but some smart --- will be along shortly) out...

Or when they use the un-insulated connectors from the 3plate ceiling rose without tape in a metal fitting in a bathroom. Been like that for 10years apparently and never touched the metal until a lamp went in it and they twisted the fitting slightly changing it and couldn't reset the rcd!

I was stunned by those pictures. There are regular comments about taped up choc blocks which, while not ideal, make perfect sense as a basic means of DIY insullation. What I can't fathom is who would ever think it acceptable to place uninsulated terminal blocks anywhere, much less inside a metal enclosure?

I love this thread for it's mix of routinely shoddy and careless work, but also for less frequent instances like this that demonstrate the sort of reckless and dangerous situations resulting from a lack of basic common sense.
