I saw a Fluke 1653B on Gumtree local to me being sold as faulty. Fault was stated as no continuity between 'N' and 'PE' ports on the resistance range. 'L' and 'PE' were fine. He said he'd been using it and the fault has just happened. He got in touch with Fluke and they gave a stupid price just to look at it. Now either I'm being stupid or missing something but according to the quick guide continuity test is between 'L' & 'PE' ports only ? I've put it on our Kewtech checkbox and IR and resistance all seem fine. I haven't checked the loop or RCD functions yet. Got to find a spare plug and whip the top (yes, the plug top, which is just the TOP!!) and give them a test.
So, am I right in my assumption that the 1653B only checks resistance/continuity between the 'PE' and 'L' ports?
