After reading a post by specialist the other day he said he got some bargain cutters or pliers on ebay made by Kew Technic, I just wondered if anyone else has got any and if so what they recon on them before I buy some.
Cheers Chris.

Hi mate: So far i've never had a problem with Kew technic stuff, that's why I got some new 1's. The only thing he's got left on ebay are: 200mm Combination pliers item Number:300627882968 & the 160mm Side cutters item number: 300627868798.
For the prices he's charging you can't go wrong.

Cheers Specialist, cant go wrong for the money I am going to get a couple and also at that price its not so painfull when you leave them on a job .
Cheers Chris.

I blew a pair up on the same day I got them from the wholesalers before! I was gutted, hadn't even paid for them

Now you did'nt try & tell them the hole was there when you opened the packet did you ? I know where your coming from though, bought a set from City's a while back. Went back to job, turned everything off & told the Builder. Anyway i'm merrily working upstairs & cut a 2.5 Bang / Flash & big hole in brand new cutters, me wondering WTF. Turns out the builder wanted a cuppa & did'nt want to wait for the cement mixer to finish or unplug his radio to use the site socket, so he decides to power up the CU instead. Guy could'nt understand why i called him a moronic:-------: made the idiot pay for them too:lol:

Haha , I still remember my first time above a suspended ceiling cut a 2.5 my boss was working on the bored at the time , he told me what needed to be done , I didn't even think to ask if it was dead, BANG! , all I heard was a few chuckles followed by there's 25 quid down the drain, *******s!!

I've been lucky thus far, every time I've managed to do it, the circuit has been RCD protected. My father wasn't so lucky, and his pliers had a nice notch out of them, which he kept as a reminder not to be so bloody stupid again!

I always lock off near a builder, and NEVER trust them for the same reason you have experienced, they always stop for drinks. I am sure they have a 30min break every half hour!!
