Hi Can anyone enlighten me of what has caused this (see attachment ) ? I'm Thinking water but hoping its not so I can take the tape back

One series string of LEDs is dead. There is a break either in one of the copper tracks, or a solder joint, or perhaps one of the current limiting resistors is cracked. Water ingress / impact damage / too much flexing during installation would be likely causes, or it could just be a random failure.
