Last week I took the opportunity of having the mains power off to test the RCBOs in a Wylex Consumer Unit, fitted nearly 5 years ago, which has the following:
1 off NHXS1B40, 4 off NHXS1B32, 2 off NHXS1B16, 3 off NHXS1B06 and 1 off NHXS1B25
Now on Test, the B40 switch went to the mid position, but all 10 of the other RCBOs went to the bottom off position.
Does this mean that the B40 is faulty in some way?
Or is it a feature so that you know it has tripped and have to turn it off and on, rather than just on? - Which I have seen with some other RCBOs.
If so why did the other 10 off RCBOs not do the same.
Do any of you have any experience or knowledge about this?
I tried emailing Wylex but they just said: "Sounds like there might be a latching problem or the contacts inside the RCBO" and that the circuit and RCBO be inspected!
They did not answer whether this is a feature or a fault specifically!
Thanks in advance.
