SWA cleats complying to 18th edition?

Good evening,

I was wondering if anyone has seen SWA cleats that would comply with the 18th edition reg 521.10.202 (i.e. not liable to premature collapse etc...)?

The data sheet for cleats produced by SWAonline say they are 'stable' between -350c and 1050c but they are still made of plastic! Not sure that would be what I am looking for. All well and good using a metal plug and screw but surely the cleat with give up first?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I highly doubt it that a firefighter will go into a building that is over 1050 deg C. I doubt their suits can that that temp.

If the cleats fail at 1050c, there isn't going to be anyone anywhere near them at that time, or anytime soon after.

Suits can take up to 370 Deg C.

Some plastics have probably been to the Moon and back.

I'm reasonably convinced that SWA's quote about temps is either theoretical or a misprint, I'm not aware of anyone getting below -273c (absolute Zero)
Stability down to -35OC and up to 105OC constant

Sadly I don't have time to write a list of the infinite amount of scenarios I would like to exclude from my question. But you have covered two there... It's not being installed under water or on a celestial body.

I have used cleats as normal and where over doorways or would pose a hazard in worse case scenario used a size up with metal band inside. so its not visible.

Now that’s a good idea bud. I’ve used the metal band but never thought of hiding it within a cleat.

Any idea of the price of those, larger P clips for MICC are certainly eye wateringly expensive. Though I assume these are steel and not copper!

depending on size of the cable. can use some black metal saddles if you got some. can get a bit pricey unless you get a job lot. it doesnt look that good though but at height its quite discreet.
