News Day from hell!!

Had an absolute howler of a day, been beating myself up all night lol! Want to know everyone else gets over a howler of a day? I struggle to get over it. Was working on a job today, foot slipped off the joist in the loft and burst the ceiling below, total accident but just annoyed at myself for being so clumsy

Call in a favour from a tame plasterer and move on. It happens to all of us. (Just the once in 50 years, when I fell foul of a pile of rolled up short lengths of carpet in the loft.)

I’ll put it like this: I had a young trainee girl working with me last year on a project and we had an absolute stinger of a day somewhere European (can’t remember and doesn’t matter..), found her literally reduced to tears which is never a good look. So I look her in the eyes, put on my Dad face and tell her “Don’t bother wasting the emotion, it’s really not worth it. And I’ll tell you why it’s not worth it : because no matter how ***** today was, I can absolutely guarantee you one thing, and that is that there will come another day even worse than this one”. And then we finished the job, drank enough cider to sink a ship and carried on with life.
