Megger BM222 Please help with Fault diagnostics

I own a Megger BM222 meter with a fault. It works on the 500V range, but there is no output on the 1000V range.
I am trying to figure out what the fault is so I can fix it.

On the 500V range, I can hear the internal relay clicking when the button is pushed.
When I push the button on the 1000V range, no clicking can be heard.

If you have a BM222, can you please tell me if you can hear the relay click on the 1000V range?
Does anyone have a service manual???

Yeah but when I first tried the button, after cleaning, it didn't work. It is only when I remembered the 3 second push comment that I went back and had another go. Then it worked.

So I wonder how many BM222 are "faulty" because the operator was too impatient to hold the button 3 seconds? Also, I have absolutely no requirement to test to 1kV, it just really annoyed me that it didn't work. Now it does. It seems likely it always has worked.

Regardless, thanks for all your comments. I am sure these will become a reference for others with the same problems.

Any of you got any ideas why one of the ones I'm looking at tells me there's dc on the input?

How far can you trace the input signal if you put dc on the input?

I haven't looked at the BM222 again yet. Would love a schematic but can't find one. Fixed a BMM503 earlier (couple of dry joints) and currently the MIT230 is in the ultrasonic cleaner. I know there's a mosfet fried but not sure why or what else. I've got a working one in my van so at least I can probe around the two and see if I can track down the reason the mosfet committed suicide - unless mosfets are supposed to have holes in them
