Ahh, all trades say that. But there are tiling reg's too. They're just not enforced very well. But that leaves a lot to be spoken about as people want to check all the time what the real correct way of going about things is.

And we tile that many different materials to that many different backgrounds with that many different products, that those too get talked about all day long.

Tiling bit of adhesive stick to wall grout end of..............only joking I know there is more to than that

There isn't really, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head, but it's making sure you use the right adhesive and grout for the right tile and surface you're tiling. Your tiles will fall off otherwise, and we hear of deaths caused by incorrect tiling believe it or not. Large format (heavy) ceramics above a bath, tiled on top of existing tiles by some numpty not taking into account the weight and the original substrate behind the original tiles - nasty stuff. They ARE going to fall off, it's just a matter of time. And the glaze on ceramics is thinner than broken glass, so imagine the weight with a sharp edge or blade even depending on how they break.

Apparently a director of an adhesive company ended up with a stutter after just one occasion where he had to tell the parents of a dead child the cause of the death. He still has the stutter to this day.

Out of all the trades we commonly know of, and certainly the forums we have, I'd have said tiling is up their between plumbing (gas) and electrical when it comes to dangerous practices. The plasterers and carpet fitters perhaps off the least perhaps.

500k though. Nice.

The sparky forum only picked up a couple of years ago really and you're a lot more active than tilersforums. So I'd say in 12 to 18 months you'll be overtaking the tile forum. So keep posting! :)

There is a lot more to it than that Dan.. LOL.. any fool can stick a tile on ( Quote DIY SOS ).. but it is the finish that counts.. and of course the same in sparks.. KNOWLEDGE..

We're coming......:gunsmilie:

I have only ever done tiling ONCE and I ended up taking the tiles off three times because I was not happy lol

The only reason I attempted it is because I believed I could not injure myself but I'm not so convinced now ;)
