I could do with your opinion on a local isolation switch for a 14250 watt range, the cooker in question if a belling country classic 100E, Im putting in a supply for it next week, I was going to run it in 10mm t+e as it is going to be in free air boxed in so could carry 63-70 amps, the family have a lot of partys and i expect the range to be pulling at least 75% most of the time and anyway i have to allow for full load, the full load is about 61amps, with most DP switches at 45A, any suggestions on how I can isolate it?, I was thinking 63A rotary nearby?

cheers

Even at 75% of maximum loading it only comes to 46A. Given the chances of full load ever being achieved are negligible, you’ve got to use standard diversity for it.

I know what my ex’s reaction to a rotary isolator would be, you’d be having it surgically removed from you’re nether regions!

You'll not see anything like those loadings you suggest. You can use, ...and very successfully a 6mm and a 32A breaker to supply your 14.2KW cooker!!

Remember, there are certain elements witin the oven sections that cannot be used simultaneously, so your KW will be reduced before you start...lol!!

agree with all above. fit a 45A switch, 6mm cable , 40A MCB if cable is clipped direct.

It will be connected load that is stated.

Again for you!!! ......Remember, there are certain elements witin the oven sections that cannot be used simultaneously, so your KW will be reduced before you start...lol!!

anything over 9.5 kw I put 10mm cable in. I would fit a 63A MCB and same rating rotary isolator. Saves any doubt. The mcb is there to protect the cable
