Has there been any progress on the Part P review

Is not the level 3 requirement for the start of 2012 suspended ?

Wales can now go its own way,so the race with England can now begin to see who gets rid of the nonsense the quickest

Abolish Part P, we live in hope mate:lol: But seriously, i'd be very surprised if that ever happens. There are too many people lining their pockets throught it.

As I understand it, all the scheme providers are stating that the majority of their members want Part P to stay.

Not wanting to sound cynical but could it just be all the new Electrical Trainee wonders they are talking about , cause it makes them look official when they have a sticker , hold on thinking about it that could be the majority now !

Guys I hear this Part P should stay and as a Scottish sparky (we dont have it up here and according to Select it will never happen) I am not trying to put anyone down here but our trade is a Bl**£4 mess when it comes to organisation but I do feel our trade there should be a min of 4 years training for youngsters and a min 2 years with 1 year improving for what I would call mature students. This comes from a guy who served 4 years to get electricians level then another 2 years to get approved and even after all that time I would not say that I was the finished article. The thing that worries me is that qualifications appear to be getting chucked about like confetti

I for one agree that PART P should stay but it needs to be harder to get in. I think the NVQ3 plus the 17th and 2391 should be a minimum for a QS.

more bloody qualifications!!!! arggghhhhhh , thought the point of part p was to show your competence and understanding of the regs, anyone can go and sit in a clasroom for 10 yrs and do as much maths as as they want, DOESNT MAKE THEM COMPETENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
