Possibly is small compared to what some of you guys do.

What about warehouse lighting? Obviously I cant throw a ladder up there. Do you usually quote in a cherry picker? Just looking for things I need to include in quote.

why ? are you thinking of taking the lamps out or diconnecting couplings ?

i'm amazed anyone thinks they need to climb up anywhere for a periodic.
shove your head up a roof hatch maybe , but mini towers ? forget it lol.
use the limitations box , thats what its for.

Limitations need to be agreed with the client or their nominated representative. If they want them tested then you've got to get up there.

no you havent
if this action poses a risk to the inspector and client is unable to put in safeguards
then it will not be tested - door swings both ways with the limitations box
bs 7671 doesnt expect you to break your neck checking anything not reasonably accessable.

Theres another 5 or so sub boards throughout. Wiring is in a mess to be fair. Big job.

Think Im going to quote it on how long I think it will take rather than how many circuits...

The marking up seems to be all over the place.

Theres going to be lots pf remedial work thats for sure.

.

At last your listening, with this type of work there is no other way, I have been doing this for 11 years for myself and 6 before as a contracts manager/ foreman and know the game regarding fixed priced quotations, as mentioned ages ago speak to the client about access, and then work out how long you think it will take you, it is not difficult to price if you understand industrial installations and have spoken to the client regarding access, I think you may well get some remedial works from the inspection too, so keep the original quote keen.

and its down to the inspector to decide whats reasonably accessable - not the client.

IMO if you can get at it with a scissor lift or boom then it's accessible, have had to hire access equipment for PIR's a good few times.

This is not something they teach you to do in college or on your apprentiship. If Im honest I think im a little inexperienced to quote this job correctly.

However this is how Im looking at it. If I under quote at least I can base future jobs on this one.

Access is going to be weekends or evenings. Already agreed.

Ive got a figure in my head based on around 13 DB's not sure if im thinking too much! Could someone PM me and il tell them a figure and maybe point me in the right direction?

Hi,

Standard Industrial set up by the looks of things. Break it all down to smaller jobs, look after your Health and safety ( especially your Isolation procedures ); don't take any chances. Do a good job and report and look forward to those remedials. Do a Professional job and it will pay dividends.
Like I said if it looks a bit daunting break it down into smaller jobs.

Regards.
