I have some Knipex 95 18 165, which I suspect are similar, but without the spring and latch. Bought at this year's Sandown Elex. Very good.

I also have a pair of the stainless cutters (branded RS but likely to be Knipex). Had them for many years. Not nearly as robust, but just fine for snipping lighter cables.

don't buy them draper offset things. they're useless.

just as i suspected then

the vde version above for more robust on site work , the stainless steel versions for panel wiring & workshop use.

:)

Like andyelectric got the NWS multi cutter with the 3.5 mm screw cutter and grooves for striping 1.5 & 2.5 thought they were a bit gimmicky to begin but they now are my go to cutters
If I need a bit of grunt then it's ck shears

muscle power or not , i wouldnt be using side snips to cut anything bigger than 6mm t&e.

the clean slice of shears is whats needed on larger stranded conductors , experience tells me that ;-)

i wouldn't use then for second fixing bigger than 4mm but i would for first fixing

keep your old damaged snips , they can become what i call "demolition" snips , useful for cutting live cables , meter seals and any number of other naughty tasks.......;-)

anyways , im currently using these.......

knipex crops , not cheap. ;-)

OK my firm issued us with some of these, and within a couple of weeks they twisted out of shape, the edge dulled as I say it's with respect IMHO they are dross, waste of money, but hey ho what ever rocks yer boat.
