One of theses PIRs has given up the ghost on my (very old!) security lighting system. Everyone I've asked tells me there is nothing compatible in todays market, so I'm hoping someone has got an old one gathering dust somewhere.

I'll happily buy more than one if you've got any from an old system.

Thanks

are the GJD ones compatible? they operate on 12V.

Have adapted GJD opals into many different systems, basically have 2 switch neg outputs, so can be used to switch relays or other controllers.

GJD ones are compatable apparently. Their helpline told me you need to incorporate 2 resistors into the control box which is way above my electrical knowledge!

Can you simplify your reply please tazz. I have a lead coming out of the control box with red, blue, black & yellow wires coming out of it, connected to the duff PIR with a red, blue & black and a green which attaches to the yellow.

Is this something a sparky numpty like me can sort out easily?

In the Control Box, Red goes to +, Blue goes to P, Yellow goes to T and Black goes to OV.

I've got piccies of the PIR & Control Box if you want to PM me your 'naked' email address as this Website only allows downloads from URLs. There is no model number on the PIR - it's black about 4 inches wide & 2 inches high & 2 inches deep. The connections in the PIR are labelled R, Y, BK & Bl

Thanks for your time on this 'tazz'.

Ok got email with photos, but didn`t really show anything......So I can only make a good guess, where we can test out at the panel.....Would suggest red is 12v+ Black is 12v-, green and blue i would think are trig 12v- inputs, one being alert working day & night, and the other input being night input, controlled by light sensor in pir.
So suggest test theory with a short cable (only test on the 12v side) short out blue to black and see if it sounds or clicks in the relay, then do the same with the green terminal, short to black.
If i`m correct one will bring on alert sounder, the other will bring on lighting relay.
After this test we can then work out GJD connections.
