Yup very true, they are clowns alright and we are tradesmen, we have to take it serious, electricity kills people, a leaking pipe will not, nuff said, n it.

Now if we go back to that ridiculous thread about cable size.

If we knew the cable length and the measured voltage at the origin we could work out the volt drop[SUP]1[/SUP] and the resultant load[SUP]2[/SUP].

As I recall it needs a quadratic equation for the two variables [SUP]1[/SUP] & [SUP]2[/SUP].

Forget it! Its 45 years since I last worked this out and it gave me a headache then.
