Thought you might be interested in something that happened to me in the early 1970, I was working on a mid sized construction site in Bristol.

Me and two more guys were driving to site at about 06:30am, minding our own business when boom, thought we had been hit by a missile, but no it was a large Japanese car, all I can recall is seeing this car wrapped around a lamppost and the driver and passenger walking about in a daze.

No one hurt too bad just shook up, the driver was an Italian and I knew something was up when he pulled out his wallet and tried to give me about £70, which was a lot of cash in those days, turned out he wasn't insured and tried to pay me off, well couldn't do that as there was far to many witnesses and it was a company van, so tough luck Luigi.

Got to site eventually a bit late, Site Agent not a happy man, about two hours later. the driver and a few of his mates came to site, started pushing people around looking for yours truly, I had called the Old Bill, the SA called them again, turfed them off site and proceeded to speak to the SA, who called me and my two mate in for a chat, turned out that the driver was a local gang boss and was after my blood, so we had to leave site never to return.

Not sure what this guy wanted to do to me but it certainly wasn't to pat me on the back, possibly pat me in the face with a baseball bat, but thankfully never found out.

Anyone else had any strange experiences? bit off topic but it,s been a bit quiet lately.

Pete can i ask you a question, also off topic but might be of use to others? I think I noticed on another thread the other day (cant find it now) that you mentioned something about getting an EICR (might have been EIC) from Stroma? I have recently joined them, not too impressed to be honest, and am trying to get copies of their forms, without much success. They are very slow to respond to emails (in fact no response at all at the moment) and i also cannot find them in the members download area. Where did you find them Pete? I don't want to use their E-Cert ones as I believe you have to pay for them and I'm a tight sod.

Hi Mate
No I didn't get any EICR forms or any EIC forms what I got was a Stroma Certification Zs Data Sheets direct from Stroma, I am not a member.
I think I saw an advert in PE with the offer no cost.
The new Max values of Zs for TN systems
The new 80% values of Zs for comparison
The web address is Stroma Certification or 0845 6211111 ext 622 hope that helps
If you want a copy PM me with your address and I'll send you a copy

I had an argument on a bus in Vietnam about whether "RPG" stood for "Role Playing Game" or "Rocket Propelled Grenade"…lol. And you haven’t lived until you’ve had a one thousand year old egg. You know what they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.:nonod:

fried or boiled?

I was on a new build school for special kids in Cardiff and a dude overlooking the site who obviously worked a night shift took exception to the groundworker's petrol saw being used at 10am. Firstly he threatened the site agent then the next day he opened his window overlooking the site and made threats to 'shoot' the next person to start work. First thing that happened was that a copper showed up and said 'crack on, it's 10.30am'.

So the saw starts up, and sure enough the window opens and a barrel points out. A full site evacuation and less than 30 mins later, the armed response unit is pulling one idiot from his dwelling into Her majesty's finest!

they are also known as century eggs
It doesn’t really matter what they call them. Given a choice I will always settle for the full English breakfast.

And another thrilling instalment!
Once in a blue moon, the local council decides to rewire an entire school during the summer holidays. On this particular school, the gaffer chucked about 30 lads onto the job and left “The Snitch” in charge. Well, one of the lads hated “The Snitch” with a vengeance and since he had handed in his notice, there was no work to be had out of him. Instead he made it his mission to really wind “The Snitch” up at every opportunity. Some of the lads had worked over the weekend to install the MCCB panels and metering and on Monday morning was a site meeting with the bigwigs from the council. The Snitch couldn’t wait to show them how clever he had been over the weekend and led them into the mains room. Only to be confronted with some images of some gentlemen’s vegetables on the MCCB cover lids. Since he was the first into the room, he tried to hide the offending articles by opening the lids up all the way. Only to be confronted with some even larger and more creative versions of the offending articles on the inside of the lids just as the bigwigs from the council were walking in. Unfortunately, I was working in the kitchen at the time and didn’t see their faces but I recon I would have wet myself.
He had even copyrighted the graffiti with ©Yukan Fukov :D

Had a bloke collapse with a heart attack in the queue of a cafe, I clear the vomit out of his mouth and start resus, other customers calmly step over his body with trays of food and drinks to find a table and watch, while most of the cafe staff carry on as normal........
He was dead when the ambulance arrived.
