Hi all i have been asked to carry out an EICR for a local housing association.

Not your typical flat as is a small box flat. The shower is basically in the hall. Looking for some opinions if the hall and everything in it inc. CU would be classed as a loctaion with a bath or shower. And how/if anyone would code that.

Thanks [ElectriciansForums.net] eicr question[ElectriciansForums.net] eicr question

Sorry for the side ways photos. I font know how to rotate them.

Thanks

The shower room is defined by the walls of the room so anything outside the room is not in a room containing a bath or shower.
On a practical note they are very unlikely to get actual water spray but could well be in a damp atmosphere.
No code for me.

I guess it's a matter of definitions. Is the shower located in a 'wetroom' or is it in a shower cubicle in the hallway?

And is it a separate room if it doesn't have a door?

Tough one, but is the location defined by it's walls or door or lack thereof ?

As it is I'd be tempted to say that the pull switch is outside of the location along with the DBs, as section 701 states to take into account partitions and walls, as well as doors, to define the extent of the location and it's zones.

Even if the shower is not classed as a location, the DBs would be getting a code for unsuitability for external influences due to the lack of fixed door and likelihood of moisture ingress.
