ah. i explain. bought the van for 1500. insurance paid out 2300. therefore, i'm 800 in pocket on top of the purchase price, less whatever i spend.

basically. it was £2600 top whack, less the £300 if i kept it. was a no brainer. OK. the sill behing the bumper is a bit squashed, bu ---'s out of sight. a 12 year old van, it's not got to be showroom condition, jus ttidy when i pull upon a job.

this is the 3rd vehicle in 20 years that i've had a no fault economical write off.each time i've made a killing. this time i've got me yed screwed on ...whiplash claim in progress. might be enough in it to pay for my funeral and ashes chucked in the mersey.

Your lucky, my lads parked van was reversed into by some idiot. Minor damage, no claim, he informed his insurance co', recorded as no fault. His premiums got raised. Lets us know the insurance company.

my misses had a claim last year. this idiot had parked illegally, blocking the opposite pavement to our drive.i reversed out and caught his rear bumper a minor scratch. misses has protected bonus, so, oh hell, let a claim go through. then comes renewal.premium more than doubled from £380 to £795. quick search on comparethemeerkat, £395. and a free meerkat toy.

Do you tell Aleksandr? :)

My van was a bit of a target last year, had 3 idiots drive into me in 8 months. I'm still paying for it now, in terms of pain. All on company insurance so no problems. Some idiot smashed into the missus last year and blamed her though, went down as a 50/50 due to us both being Aviva and them being too lazy to investigate, but only dropped the 5 years no claims to 3 years no claims, and their automatic renewal was cheaper than any other firm.

That a shame Tel, but at least you got a good price for the insurance

You've got to be careful as well - if you contact your insurance company and ask about claiming but then decide not to go ahead with it, they can still record it as you having had an accident. Daz
