Ive screwed off the old light thinking it would just be a matter of screwing other straight in the same way the problem I’m having is the wires from the ceiling are too thick to fit into new light fitting, there’s 3 earth wires that we’re intertwined together but I unraveled them, I think the other is a live and 2 neutrals. Will I buy a new light?

That’s one of the cheap B+Q lights that when you’ve wired it all in and put the shade on, it casts a shadow over the cable from the lamp - horrendous design by someone who didn’t see it lit. Why oh Why. . . .
and FFS fit a LED lamp., not an incipient fire lamp (filament).
lamp or bulb? terminology conflict. should be in BS7671 under definitions, that would solve all arguments.

Jesting aside....Magners with the connections on the existing wiring there is the real possibility of causing dangerous problems to the entire lighting circuit if you get it wrong....with no indication that you have done so because it can be dangerous and yet still work.
As you appear to have very limited electrical knowledge a relatively small charge for a local electrician would be money well spent.

Maybe he sorted the light out, its all working and his wife thinks he is the DIY DON and is all over him, cooked him steak and the BJ is ready once he has finished his after dinner mints and glass of expensive brandy, you lot should take note........... you could get lucky one day.
Maybe but that would involve me having to admit that someone with no training or experience can figure out for himself what only superhuman sparkies can do.
It's easier to sneer and belittle these people from my armchair and in doing so make myself feel that little bit better bout my miserable stake and BJ free existence.

Have you tried tapping the fitting with a glass hammer. I have found these fittings suspended on skyhooks before now and they just dont hang right...

It would normally be the outer terminals where the flex of the pendant drop connect.
