Discuss going to try a 'pro' alarm install in the Security Alarms, Door Entry and CCTV (Public) area at ElectriciansForums.net

Another +1 for the Texecom Premier Elites, took the plunge myself in December as a first alarm and found it surprisingly pleasurable to install and configure. Mrs loves the app too so she knows whats going on. Ive also added a cheap GSM text/dialer to it to make it dual signalling too.

If you are doing a fresh install do FSL wiring so just 4 core, its neater to run. Need 8 core to the Texecom bell though, i went for the illuminated one, looks the -------s, neighbor has already asked how to get one.

Cheers

Brian

No, i think it only actually needs six, sorry for saying 'needs'.

I did 8 core as I did grade3 bells at home so 7+8 are the additional fault connections on the grade3.

I attach a pic

I wired Test to OP1 as per the manual so you can make a noise from WinTex, not configured that yet.

kit arrive today

premier elite 12
1x sounder
5x pir
1x DC (although I forgot to order!) is this just wired with 2cores and they go into zone 1 2x terminals?
1x rkp

wired it as attached- seemed ok and went to setup- but showing tamp on zones 2-8 as I didnt link them out and only wired zone1 with a 1x pir to test.

doing the setup on the rkp seems a nightmare- couldnt get past setting the device settings- is doing it with usb and wintex alot easier?

Yes, Wintex makes it easier, especially for naming the zones and setting attributes.

Set unused zones to not in use rather than the Guard setting. Then you should have no tampers.

so have i drawn the wiring for the pir correctly
also do i need to use the resistors on the dc too? how would that be wired

Depending on your door contact, you will either have resistors built in and need to set them to match the usual texecom * or * if it’s a dumb one you will have to add them in to the contact which can be a bit fiddly.

Either way ‘Engineer Utils > Zone status’ is your friend for live testing.

And yes, I’ve wired all of mine with FSL just using two wires.

Ok do something like the attached as it looks like a dumb sensor without resistors built in. So blue and yellow go to 1 and 4 on that zone

put the yellow on the upper tamper terminal. those tamper plates are unreliable and not necessary.
