A simple question with hopefully a simple answer!

We have a switched 13A fcu which controls an external RCD protected double socket.

I can leave this on constantly and without anything plugged, it turns half off so the switch is level. I can turn it back on and it works fine

What could be causing this?

Thanks all.

Apprentices pay better attention when their nuts are (pretend) wired to a consumer unit main switch in it's off position.
They pay every bit as much attention to every word you say as they do every single person who goes anywhere near that switch.
Oh! the games we played.
I think we'd get time for that these days?
