as title. what is your favorite hand tool that you've had for donkeys. i'll start with my trusted weller soldering iron, bought in 1974 and still going strong. it's on about it's 12th tip, but can out perform any of these modern wimpy irons. same as this one, but 240V.

Maybe she needs these - from the 1960s known as f-stretchers - actually Hellerman Sleeving Tool and they sold "Hellerine Lubricant" to be used with them....

Yes, there have been one or two 'pinched' moments, but the tool remains one of my cheapest, most used, and always a pleasure to use.
can also be used for castrating small animals.

my closest contact with farm animals ( apart from, when a young teen, shooting a big bull with a BB gun just to annoy it ) has been out of the fridge, into the pan and onto the plate.

We had some horrific methods for that on the farms when I was young .
De horning the young calf's was the worst job I have ever done.
My younger brother had a Saturday job on a pig farm when we were lads. His description of having to deal with a barrowful of runts with a claw hammer was one of the most memorable conversations I have of that age. Sent the poor bugger vegetarian for a decade.

I know . It had an effect on me too. We had a dairy herd , so the attrition rate was not to high, trouble is they become like pets . Especially pigs.
I hand reared a young bullock, the mother died during the birth .I was about 16. I broke my heart when the day came it went to mart.
The only saving grace was that is was destined to be a prize bull and was not going to slaughter.
