Hi to all,

First of all let me say I am not an electrician and the following questions are for my own knowledge only and I will hire an electrician to do and sign everything. That being said, situation is like this. I have a garage which is part of the house (not detached). That garage will be used for a workshop. I will have there a CNC mill, CNC laser, various woodworking machinery (bandsaw, table saw, router table) and other hand tools. All equipment is 230V.
At this point the garage has 2 sockets (1 single and 1 double), from the double socket a wire (2 core) is going the power up the single socket (it is used for fridge). There is also a neon ceiling light.
The amps for everything (equipment) will around 45, but I will not use all at the same time.
The CNC mill itself will draw like 36 amps (mill plus 2 compressors and VFD) and all of this will work almost at the same time.
The photo is the actual consumer unit on the property.
What do I need to ask the electrician to have all working (again not all at the same time) safely?
Roughly how much this will cost?

Thank you
Gabi

Almost everything you have mentioned has high inrush demand on start up. Your electrician will need to design a circuit so that your mcb(s) do not trip when machines start.
Give the whole job over to your electrician to design as they see fit. State the nature of the machines and leave the rest up to them

As above.
Get a few quotes from some electricians, telling them what you want, like you have mentioned above. They will design the job to fit your needs and give you a quote.
How much will it cost???? Don't know mate.

It is like 4 meters far. 2 walls

You need to get people round to view the job ..........

Personally I would put in a new dedicated circuit for the machines on a RCBO .............. but the devil is in the detail and how much you can afford ......

Any work requires certification and new circuits fall under Part P of the building regs...... so you will need to make sure that people quoting provide the relevant documentation

I don't believe you Gabi, you're going to take us for every penny you can. You'll drain us of all our knowledge over and over again and then save yourself a fortune by doing it yourself!! :):D;)

I am not good with electrics. Besides few knowledge from school I am hopeless. I will try to find somebody tomorrow to came and have a look.
Thank you all for taking time to answer newbie questions.

Hi Gabi - it sounds like a new 40A circuit and a sub board for the garage (just a guess really). This would take a day or two of labour, depending on ease of access any digging etc. If the house tails, CU or bonding needs a fix or the garage needs to be rewired that might add another day. This would be worked out on a site visit and many Electricians will do a free quote.

That will work fine as long as the Pirs use relay switching, some don't.

Have you tried them without the PIR in the circuit? Could be a dodgy relay in the PIR. LEDs are not technically always on but pulse really fast so...
