I want to be able to cut through tails more easily. At present I am nibbling away at them with my side cutters which takes time and also doesn't leave a very clean cut.

I borrowed the builders cable shears and they literally just sliced though 16mm tails quickly and neatly. I have a set of bolt cutters but these are too big so I was looking for any recommendations on a set of cable shears?

Cheers all

They will breeze through up to 25mm. I have had the yellow and red handle ones 10 years but cant seem to find them
I did see those but they just didn't look very big. Not very long or a wide mouth to get 25mm in. Do they definitely cut 25mm? These look bigger as if they would do the job better.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yato-YT-1969-YATO-Cable-Cutter/dp/B008YN40D8
I have CK and Knipex , both cut effortlessly
Could you post a link to them please Ruston?

I had an old pair of orbis will (knipex) cable shears which previously belonged to my dad.
They were pretty good and chomping heavy gauge cable.
But over time got blunter and blunter.

I now use a ratchet cutter which is very good and ripping through tails and small armoured cables

I use simple Bahco croppers. Sharp as a gin and tonic after years of use. I think the CK versions are supposed to be identical in style and quality. Probably same factory.

I can't find the CK exact ones , very similar to these .
As @Dobes_88 The knipex Installation pliers are very good too , but are only recommended up to 16 mm .
The CK of the link I have posted do two sizes , 16mm and 25mm.

Also good for cutting strands of cable armour, although I try to restrict their use to copper.
