It's not fused tigether, the lampholder is screwed together and a little metal tab locks it a bit like a ratchet mechanism. It is possible to get them apart again if you can get to the metal tab and push it back, but it's really not worth the effort if you're replacing the lampholder anyway.
You could buy BC22 to E27 adaptorsThanks guys. I will replace all the holders in my first post with this E27 type holder. I am assuming that it will be ok to use a LED bulb up to 9 to 12W?
