As above. It's a device that fuses at a specific temperature to prevent overheating. Usually trips if the airflow is inhibited in some way, such as fabric over the vents, but occasionally they fail through fatigue.
They are a cheap component, but the two problems that you will have with a generic one is identifying its fusing temperature (which would originally be written on it), and mounting it exactly as the original was.

Thanks for the feedback do you know what the trade name of them is?
 
Because it appears to be riveted to the assembly, it might not be available separately. You might need to replace the element complete. As above, resist the temptation to substitute your own choice of thermal fuse, stick with the original and correct parts.
