If you were wiring 8 gangs of 2 way light switches. Would you wire 8 independent circuits, so 8 no. 3 core between switches. Or would you run a live, and loop all the L1's together, then just run 8 no. 2 core between switches ?

The engraving machine is just a cheapsih 3040 type Chinese CNC mill similar to this one. The largest cost is the licences for the CAD software and the MACH software to run the machine.

I've never tried to engrave the switch rockers themselves I might give it a go. Most manufacturers screen print the markings for their switches. Years ago we had Crabtree mark a load of switches for use in a housing development. I've no idea what the cost or minimum order was though.

I had a go at engraving an MK Grid+ switch rocker:

Seen plenty mistakes when other apprentices tried engraving… Tumble dryer/drier or just having “FF” for fridge freezer.

The engraved letters on white plastic was rubbed over with coloured wax…. (A professional crayon) and the coloured bit stayed inside the cut away part.

We also made plastic signs that were made up of plates of laminated coloured plastic. So the engraved part would cut through the top layer revealing whatever the second layer colour was.

Traffolyte.

Is that Mach3 / 4 by Artsoft?
What CAD software do you use?
Mach 3. I use Vectric Cut 2D Desktop for making up signs and plates as it will engrave simple text to traffolyte and cut out fixing holes and panel button holes and the plate itself. And Stickfont V2.6 for engraving text on switches and things as it is substantially more flexible for text. Was making these ready for this week splitting offices to 3 separate suppliers meters.

Makes my Dymo look very inadequate

It even make my Brother PT550 look a bit sad, but I am happy with it, better than a Sharpie by a long way, reminds me must make a sticker to go over the Wylex Logo. 🤣[ElectriciansForums.net] 8 gangs of 2 way light switches - wiring

Something that's intriguing me

Kitchen socket sink side 32 amp

Kitchen socket hob side 32 amp

3 ring finals ?

4mm radials ?

pt550 doesn't like printing "sockets"

If you had one of those in the 90s you would be the bees knees :)

"It works" and "it's safe" are not necessarily the same thing. With DIY work, they are often far from the same thing.

Furthermore, as the left hand switch will currently not do anything, I'd try the loose brown in here:
