Powering lamping leds

I go rabbiting and I baught a ledlenser head torch for 150quid to find it has a cree xhp100 and I can get a xhp70 for 8 quid

my old torch cost 90 and has a creet6 which cost £2.30

so then check out the battery replacement to find its £7

from what I can see I need a driver they enclose in the box bit
looks online like there’s a forward voltage meanwell driver or 2 that could power it

im wondering how I’d go about it as I can’t find definitive guides
I want to make one as for rabbiting it would be ideal to have such a beam and colour the lense red is insane
would beat my old lamp I don’t want to buy the new lamp now at £100 when it’s got £15 inside it

any advice has anyone made a simple led lamp ?

been lying in the garden in all weathers for best part of 30 years. apart from more holes in the bottom than the titanic. was in remarkably good conition. wick was a bit skewed though.

That's very nice. Mine's a cheap Chinese jobbie, been hanging outside the back door in all weathers for over 20 years, and has been working fine. Looks a tad rusty, but no holes!!!

this one has "British Manufacture" stamped in the glass. he leaks were fixed using a circle cut from a builder's bucket with plenty of industrial sealant/adhesive.
