Can i get alternativereplacement bulbs for serious reader floor lamp they are quoting £39 for a bulb is there an alternative bulb its 12v 6w M16 daylight

Yes it’s a lamp called Serious Reader, model is the Alex floor lamp they make reading lamps which are expensive, e.g £200plus . They claim that they reduce eye strain I got it as a present and the bulb has gone and online they are £39 plus postage. They look pretty normal M16 size. Frankly I would be happy to just replace it with a normal one if it works in the lamp. Any suggestions?

According to the web site:

So it seems they are charging a lot for a bulb that claims to offer better colour rendering, etc. How genuine are those claims for benefits? Not sure, but this is one article pouring a bit of doubt:

It looks to me from the pics on their website that their bulbs might also have a narrower beam angle than usual.
If you can find a 12v M16 reflector bulb of 6W or below, you could try it, but the light beam might well be more diffuse even if you find the right colour temperature and CRI.
