Do you use them or have you used them? If so which is the best brand for least mess?
And how messy are we talking?

We are talking a whole lot of mess!!!! seriously it will fill the room or house with dust if not connected to a decent hoover/extraction device. Best used for full re-wire in a vacant property!!!, even with good dust extraction the dust will get everywhere and you'll need countless dustsheets everywhere. Your better off with a rotary hammer and chasing bit.
 
Got a Hilti and the vac use it in occupied places all the time no compliant thus far, really is almost dust free you make more dust chopping out the spoil with the SDS
 
I am with pennywise on this one, I use my chaser with a bertie vac, just the other day a customer stated how surprised they were at the lack of dust and mess.

I actually find I make less dust than cutting/chiselling by hand.
 
I use one of those sparky dual disc chasers, the bees knees if you're doing a few chases, not worth setting up for one or two. I have a hoover with a really long pipe on and stick it outside, very little dust and then all you do is tap out the plaster/brick. Seems to work well.
 
i have done loads with my 'Sparky' twin blade chaser. Stupidly did the first three chases in an occupied house with no extractor. After not seeing anything for the next 1/2 hour while it settled and then having to go and fetch and vacuum to clear up the rest of the house, i quickly invested in a heavily researched and reliable, worldwide known extractor..... or Henry to you and me.. amazing little blighter and even smiles at you whilst you work...
 
This is a minute after cutting 1 chase down the wall just to the right. No dust visible at all in front of the light

I will have to take a picture whilst working in an unoccupied house, with and without a vac for a really good comparison white out me thinks:D
 
make sure your toolbags, sandwiches,drill and MFT cases are all nicely open close to where you are chasing without vac.. lol.

Been there and done that lol.

This is the angle grinder attachment pretty much the same level of dust extraction you get with the chaser, I use the single bladed grinder set up for cutting the back boxes out.
