We had a bible too in my days of training. A little brown book was issued to all 1st year electrical students around the countries collages. It was a complimentary copy from Brock motors. It gave a thorough introduction into motors, the types, there uses, protection requirements calculations and there control. Also a more than decent fault finding section. This book was quite small in size, (a true pocket book) but quite thick. Still have mine to this day, but the semi hard back cover is getting a bit thread bare now mind!!... lol!!!

I'm pretty sure there must be others here that was given or has acquired this old motor reference book, especially among the older (old gits) electricians... lol!!

Still got mine :hurray: it's getting a bit rough around the edges now. (Bit like me)

I don't know, if the collages still give complimentary ''pocket guide to the Reg's'' books out these days, but they did in my day, ...still got that book too ......somewhere!! (13th or 14th ed i can't remember, ...lol!!)

That’s more up to date than mine!

The Ex wife sold it a car boot sale, it was dated 1895. We’re good friends but she knows I’ll never forgive her for that!

I was taught as an apprentice how to do Married, Splice and Britannia joints in this crap.

U solder sparks one and all

What a crazy system we have,"you" cant sign off your own work, even in your own home
Perhaps some plumber who may have read a red book will turn up

The picture may have been to show the irony, but seriously, what a joke part p is it

I’ll roll over in my grave before that ever happens!

I respect plumbers, but in their own job. As you all know I’m not domesticated but working on a 15000psi water system I wouldn’t go near it. I can weld and braze but not to the standard they could.

Signing my work off!
