just bought a set of these, as my last set somehow disappeared when working in a house where there was a ******* plumber with light fingers on site. grrrrr

[ElectriciansForums.net] Screwdrivers.....

I've had a set of wickes drivers (possibly Draper) for over a year, had no probs yet still going strong.
The softy bits on the handles have worn a bit, on the most used ones.
Downside is the low rent badge.
I did buy the Wera torque set though.

Draper make the Wickes drivers, I bought a 7 piece draper set on the auction site (search draper VDE 7 piece) for £13 delivered! Still got 6 left after 2 months aswell which for me is good going!

Don't think i'd trust myself to take a £50 set of screwdrivers out of the van!

I've got a right old mixture, but will comment on the Wera, I have ONE (with the laser cut tip thing) and can safely say it's blinkin' good. really does bite nicely, as in, it doesn't appear to be a load of old marketing tosh, it does actually seem a nice trick.

i have ck, and had others over 13 odd years, but i found a set of bs stamped 10000v insuated in .....LIDL, set of them too for £5, just as good and hard wearers, and when it comes to it and they wear, i would rather spend a 5er then over 10quid for one ck one!

I used wera for the last few years. I liked them but then I was tempted by the bahco drivers. The bahco drivers win although I did break the tip if the 3mm flat driver because I thought it was a good idea to use that instead of my pixie driver to take out a 3" screw that was stuck in a brick wall. Silly me

At the moment I'm using irazola and bahco VDE and love them both don't know why I'm using 2 sets but i had the irazola for £29 off eBay and the bahco for £10 from work !

I use CK, mainly because they were cheap when I filled my box up. That was about 5 years back and I think I have only had to replace one PZ2 due to to a snapped head. Not bad going really.

I still use on that I made in the school metalwork class in about 1964 (but not for electrical work as it's all metal) & it's still going strong. In the tool box I have a mixture of Wera & CK.

iv'e got a couple of haupa... long handled crimper to 35mm. bootlace crimper. excellent tools.

Always used CK only ever had problems with the really small flat driver snapping the tips.

Thats exactly what happens with my Bahco ones. Think I may look at Roebuck for that one, had a bench job once, removing araldite from capscrews, gave that Roebuck some (too much) force and it took it.

Absolutely correct they hold water, shrouds are totally unnecessary. 20s is 24mm spanner, 20 large is 30mm spanner.
