HV Cable installation

This is a FINISHED hv cable installation,The cables come through the wall at approx 2m high and drop over approx 7m to the floor,Must be one of the worst installs i have ever came across

did pikeys install it so it would be easier to lift come nightfall?

Not a good standard at all, nice bit of ladder rack wouldn't go a miss there

Yes Dan that's what we were called in to do, For some reason they will not let the original installers anywhere near the building

They could have at least laid it on top of the vent trunking and used sticky pads and tie wraps to hold them down!!

Oh yeah, that's a world class installation. Doesn't it need ducting where it passes through the wall as well as there being an obvious lack of support? How on earth did they expect that install would be acceptable? Maybe they left or got thrown out before they had completed the job.....

Its probably best we didn't see the termination point if that picture is anything to go by

My worry would be:
Is there enough slack to make a decent job of it? If not you’re buggered.

It's not the size of the through crimp required, it's the size of the crimping tool that worries me!!!

If it come to using crimpers then there’s a though joint involved. Have you seen the modern ones? They look like a dog turd with a giant bloodworm coming out each end!

Have seen someone do a connection with Weidmüller clip on terminals. OK only low current, but the voltage could rise to 1450V.

They were all crispy and crunchy when I found them, didn’t take a lot of finding I just followed that horrible burning smell.

Oh Dear!!!

So where are the those cables coming from, also have they been direct buried along it's run, or is the installation all above ground?? I'm thinking this could be a Ring Main install??
Any chance of a photo, to what they are being terminated too??
