It may have been irresponsible to just put a bit of tape over it and not mention it on the PIR but not as irresponsible as the idiot that left it like that in the first place.

I'll post a copy of the PIR and some photo's as soon as I get time.

Started the EICR yesterday. Nearly all the cables in the roof space are chewed through by vermin - bare copper!!

The best part is the Zs and the R1 + R2 figures, I make that every circuit is virtually the same length give or take a cm or 2 between friends.

I think he didn't like to see a value exceed 1ohm for anything did he
