Think you'll find they still use a modern version of exactly the same thing, in large company office blocks and the like. It basically gives the whole building the same time on all the clocks!! Same thing i would guess for employee clocking in/out, time card locations!!
Had that unfortunate experience yesterday, the clocks now turning again for the next one!!! Grrrr!!! ....lol!!!
A bit before that Marvo. 30's more like. They were used in many large factories to govern the clocking machines.
Thanks Tony, my guess wasn't an educated one, I've no experience whatsoever with these old master/slave clock systems.
