[ElectriciansForums.net] crimpers

first crimper is a "hex die" crimper

second is an "indent" crimper.

the difference is how they clamp the lug onto the cable....

for £50 i'd get the hydraulic set , much easier to use and comes with carry case and dies upto 300mm........

HYDRAULIC CRIMPING TOOL KIT CRIMPERS CRIMPER 10-300mm | eBay

The hydraulic ones are the way to go,they make life much easier as all the crimping I do seems to be in tight spaces.
I thought these would be a lot more expensive,at that price I would not be too sure of the quality.

Check out for the battery operated versions,I have used them in the past and they were great and saved so much time when you are under pressure in a shut down to get the power back on.

Agree!! Anything from 50 mm and over, and you'll be struggling in a restricted space with the brute force manual units. Indent or hex, it basically makes little difference, the die size will ensure a solid crimped connection...

Well at £50 the quality isn't going to compare with the well known makes, but i'm sure i've seen posts on here where others have bought this hydraulic crimper and have been pleased with it. So you pays your money and take your chances!! lol!!
