Depends how much you want to pay, I'd say the T80 extreme is good having got them myself.

I think the next step up is licenced radios but thats a different kettle of fish.

If you want good range and quality, get an ofcom Licence for General uk site, ÂŁ65 for 5 years. PMR 446 radios have a power output of 50mW Licence radios have an output of 5W (5000mW) so its clear to see the range advantage on sites. Good models are Motorola CP040, GP340, GP344...We use 6 CP040`s very happy with them

second that. I use CP040s regularly and are excellent.

if Toys R Us, are cheaper then why not........just find some of the range statements on here a bit doubtful.....have lent our radios to control guys before now, as their pmr Argos jobbies couldn`t reach the 3rd floor.

I brought a set of these off amazon, 40 quid, bargain, me and my brother tried them out today, they really do work well, and have the headset option, feel really like they are going to last, brought them for a full EICR on a hotel I'm doing on monday, here is a link fellahttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Binatone-Terrain-Twin-Walkie-Talkie/dp/B004P8IVEU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1396133608&sr=8-3&keywords=walkie+talkies

Damn is that all it costs? I wish I got better ones now. I guess the more powerful they are, more likely it will fry your brain or hand etc.

I did that to mine but I kept the TX at max.

They are dam good radios. Better then anything sub 200 pounds a pair.

Still Tech need a licence....just out of interest, we have been on sites, like campus universities were even our 5w Motorolas had problems....so we made up a repeater from 2 motorola UHF old taxi radios, they were 25w each, but we programmed them down to 5w to keep within legal limits....distance is fantastic....
