Well if I had known this method......... think of the hours I have wasted locating joists and altering layouts so they are away from joists yet still in a regular pattern. Well you live and learn.

It was a small shower room and all four spots were strategically placed to maximise butchering of the joists haha

Structurally that isn't necessarily a problem, you only need one collar for every third rafter.
It's just a massive fire risk!

Good idea that ,, make sure all light fittings line up with the joists , , after all the plaster board can hold the ceiling up ...

Have a look at the back of the car ....... the back wheels are 3" off the road with all the weight on the front pulling it down.

Probably paid more for the lights than the car an' all.
