Meter tail upgrade what the hell

That’s bad....cables not colour harmonised...I would have repositioned the meter to the left over the cut out and fitted the isolator to the right to save crossing the cables and then re-sealed everything. Cut out looks like an early series 5 so probably 80A maximum load rating.

    Dash cam. yay or nay........?

I bought the Lidl one last Sunday, fairly easy to install in the van and already recorded a near hit when a car pulled out in front of me.

Advice needed on unconnected earth wire.

They did pretty well there, when I worked for a DNO it was usually a TT fix for a missing earth....removes any further responsibility!

What is the BS number of the DNOs cutout fuse?

Current use fuses are BS88-3 but there are obviously plenty of 1361 out there too. Most new connections are fitted with 80A fuses but the cut out fuse carrier is rated at 100A. Easy and only answer “Not Verified”

Advice needed on unconnected earth wire.

Yes you are correct and also before the first T, the extended ECV pipework looks a bit dodgy too.

Torque screw driver anyone bother ?

The torque screwdriver alone is around £100.00 or you can get the complete kit with bits and wrap around case for more. I just have the screwdriver and 2 bits which suits my needs.

    Notre Dame Cathedral Fire

I read in the paper the other day that it was due to “12th century electrical wiring”. Apparently the wiring was made of paper soaked in some chemicals. Not bad considering electricity was only discovered some 600 years later!!

Dodgy meter move, how to fix?

That’s overcome by fitting seals to the blocks but having said that seals only have to be cut at any point to gain access for a tamper.
