Hi everyone, this ones a first for me but weve been asked install and use a three phase supply in a large new build house. The 16 way dis board is going to go in a ground floor store / plant room and will give us either 48 single phase ways or a few less if we use some three phase 22kw EV's...
Agreed a basic price but I explained that this would depend on attic conditions and any changes the client wanted. There's a lot of LED strip now appearing in the spec which is making me this a central wiring panel on each floor may make the lighting easier
Just called at the job today and noticed about 50+ rolls of rockwool had been delivered!! - Kind of helped make my mind up about using Pemsa basket fixed to the roof trusses _ can then at least add something if needed. Still havent decided on central wiring cabinet in cupboard through...
Thats what i'm thinking at this stage but was also wondering if anyone has gone further and kept all of the cabling up on baskets or something - makes maintenance / changes easier but then climbing around afterward on 450mm of rockwool isn't easy either
Hi everyone - firstly a happy, and hopefully prosperous new year to all.
I thought I would start the year on a thread that that’s been around before but usually leads to more questions than answers - central (and maybe in future) smart lighting.
I have a new build to rewire which is a big...
Possibly but it doesn't feel as though thee is much choice if my quals don't get let me so much as change a socket. Looks like I will be hitting the phone tomorrow to talk to JIB and others
2382 sounds a good start as your right you don't forget a trade and I've stayed involved in and around it for years. Testing qualifications is interesting though as when I qualified you didn't have a separate testing qual - it was just part of your electrical work not a big deal really but time...
Cheers Brucelee - great advice on all fronts I;m gonna give JIB a call tomorrow to see what they say. Just dug out my certs to now have all of the module detailes etc. That's if anyone will remember them !
Without wanting to sound to smart---- about it I did kinda feel that having come across some of the lads who had been pushed through much shorter training to get qualified. its not there fault as there's only so much you can cover on a short course but you do notice the difference
I know this will the most irritating part of it. Whilst reading the forums and in a moment of nostalgia just managed to find my old certs:
Got a GO3 in electrical fitting
JO2 in maintenance and installation 1
JO" in maintenance and installation 2
Dont know if these ring a bell with anyone...
Thanks for all the views guys, luckily I managed to keep up with the colours and was one of the first to get a fluke - wish I still had that strangely.
back to an earlier post I'm a bit fed up with management (especially for others ) at this point so am thinking of getting back and run my own...
Thanks for the vote of confidence Glennspark. It got me upset a bit as well I don't think there was much at the time to touch a 4 year apprenticeship - but I probably would say that!. Thing is, I'm not sure what I need to do next to get back in the trade in terms of catch up courses or who I...
Hi everyone,
Despite having read the forum posts for months now this is my first post so apologies if its an old question or posted in the wrong place.
Anyway I qualified as an in 1980 having done some HTEC certificates as part of a 4 year apprenticeship. However, rather than stay on with my...
