I’d say most houses I work in have the gas meters inside somewhere. Under stairs, in the garage, in the kitchen/utility room, in a plant room etc.
It’s only the more recent properties that have meter boxes externally.
I recently fitted a Heatmiser Neostat for a customer in their hall- to control their radiators throughout the house (70’s 4 bed medium sized detached).
Quite bizarrely the thermostat is reading 3 or so degrees above the actual temperature when the lounge/hall door is open. Ie stat shows 22...
Never had a problem with quite a few standard receivers I’ve fitted. Probably around 20+.
Fitted only 1 dual receiver and 1 dimmable receiver. Both didn’t work properly. Won’t be trying them again. Stick to the standard receiver/hard wire/go with something like Lutron RA2
They didn’t recommend it was done. I priced (high!) to re arrange the circuits so that no storage heater had more than one phase supplying it. Needless to say I didn’t get the job. Which suited me just fine!
No chance of RCD tripping with ELV, one big reason why I use them.
I usually use gel filled wiska boxes or wiska shark or similar. Resin is fine, until you need to re enter.
