How many downlights in the kitchen?

About 6-800mm from walls and around 1000mm apart in a kitchen in my opinion. Don’t use Lap. Use something decent. Ansell, Collingwood, JCC etc etc

searching for most suitable drill bit for porcelain tiles

These are the same type as I linked to above. Marcrist are a market leader and very good, but in my experience the toolstation/screwfix ones are nearly as good and a lot cheaper

searching for most suitable drill bit for porcelain tiles

That will work well on ceramic tiles but they won’t even touch a lot of porcelain tiles. You’d be there for hours attempting to drill a single hole.

searching for most suitable drill bit for porcelain tiles

https://www.toolstation.com/mexco-tdxcel-dry-diamond-tile-drill/p26025 Always this type. They’re the best by far. Most brands seem decent. A bit of a pain to get started. Screwfix sell a guide with suckers on that makes it easy. Otherwise drill a hole in an off cut of plywood the same size as...

    FuseBox AFDD Combined RCBO

Informative post, but all that money spent and you fit the clip in lid blanks rather than full module ones! Why?! 😄😄

Check they are a member of NICEIC on the website under ‘find a contractor’. If they are then look up NICEIC Platinum Promise.

    Lutron RA2 information anyone?

Yep it’s brilliant. Reliable, easy to set up and use. As above 9m is extremely conservative. I fitted it in a large 4 bed house last year, including detached garage and expected to need repeater extenders but the main repeater did the lot reliably. Detached garage was 15m plus away through 2...

Bundy makes the Rolls Royce of temp site boards ...

I modify the garage unit to have 2x 20a mcb or 1x32 and 1x20 and Have 2x double sockets on each circuit. Means you can use more power and if some idiot destroys one socket somehow and causes it to disconnect, then the other circuit can still be used.

Brick lights in a retaining wall

I wouldn’t be fitting that toolstation tat in a customers house! Gel filled junctions are fine, especially with ELV. I do it all the time with no issues.

Brick lights in a retaining wall

There are no Ip68 or ELV brick lights. I don’t fit brick lights anymore as they’re all carp. If it was me I’d be getting the hole bricked up and coring in some Collingwood ground lights. Will never go wrong if done properly. Site driver inside somewhere or in adaptable box on wall if that’s...

Sonos Beam. You won’t be disappointed. You can also stream music through it very easily with all the functionality of a normal Sonos speaker too

Vettels reaction on hamilton in azerbarjain race

I think it should still have gone to court, but not to reverse the WDC result. That would be ridiculous and unfair on MV who deserves it. It would’ve been good to shine a light on the FIA though and find out why those exceptional decisions were made at such an important point in the season.

How to install a floodlight safely while up ladders

Get a decent ladder too. None of these flimsy ones that sway about. Mine is completely solid working at about gutter/eaves height on a normal house, which is as high as I’d ever go up a ladder anyway. It is quite heavy though. I always refuse the option of using the customers ladders as they...
