Inverter Packed up, Advise on a replacement and someone in South Wales to install please?

Hi Luke, I was going to get a new inverter fitted with Solgen, they were waiting on stock for weeks though from Italy. So I arranged fitting of a Sunny Boy as stock was available. Typically, on the day I had the Sunny boy installed, Solgen called to say they had just taken delivery of the ABB...

Inverter Packed up, Advise on a replacement and someone in South Wales to install please?

Yes, the power one was specified because of the shading, but by me, not the installer. They originally turned up with a 3kw sunny boy from what I remember? I rejected that that though due to single mppt. It was during November 2011 so I think they were just throwing in anything they could...

Inverter Packed up, Advise on a replacement and someone in South Wales to install please?

Thank you Whinmoor for your reply. I went to a show on the NEC today where a stand recommended replacing with a Solax. £300 plus vat and fitting. I will spend the weekend considering options as I may well invest in a hybrid inverter with a battery bank. Cheers.

Inverter Packed up, Advise on a replacement and someone in South Wales to install please?

Update on this, I spoke to ABB, and they have offered an UNO DM PLUS 3.3 KW replacement for £625 plus vat fitted, or a 4.0 KW for £675, with a 5 year warranty, upgradable for a few hundred to 10 years. Unsure if any benefit in going for a 4.0 kw inverter on a 3.055 setup? Opinions on this...

Inverter Packed up, Advise on a replacement and someone in South Wales to install please?

Morning all, I've not needed to be here for a long while. My power one pvi 3.0-outd, has malfunctioned today. I'm getting Error E031, I can hear the relays clicking away. I found an Australian youtube video on it, and they seem to think although it can be repaired, it seems its not worth it...

South Wales (Cardiff) solar installer recommendations please.

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated! i only noticed the "problem" in early February after a particularly low fit cheque. The rain was relentless throughout the winter though so may just be that? anyhow, I observed the inverter trying to start up. http://youtu.be/XRip1bCdhHc if it had...

Sky high quote and false claims??

To update on this, the salesman called back the following day and returned the deposit cheque. The couple said they needed more time to think, and the salesman said "No probs give us a ring in January". He did take all paperwork away with him though as "his boss needed it" so nothing left to...

Sky high quote and false claims??

Thanks all round for your responses. They have given a £1250 deposit so that'll be stopped. I would like to name them, but without having the fit and payback claims in writing I think I'd do better to keep my mouth shut. Thanks again, Deeyup

Sky high quote and false claims??

Hi, Not been on here for a long while after having my solar pv system fitted in November 2011, but looks like things have massively changed. A friend of mine just called me to say their 78 year old parents have just signed today for a pv system. From what I've roughly worked out, it looks...

    Tidal Power.

That one in northern Ireland works very well. Apparently the seals avoid it and none have been injured by it. Theres talk of a barrage across the river Severn/Bristol channel which if made could make up to enough power to service the whole population of Wales depending on where they put it...

    Aurora pvi desktop monitor

Hi, Does anyone have one of these? Mine arrived yesterday but was found to be missing the sd card. You can't even start it up without the card. There are a few files installed on it that are required for it to run the hardware. I have a suitable sd card but it's no use without the...
