    Don’t think I’ve ever broken one . The threads get a bit knacked. It’s generally setting them down and they fall between insulation in lofts. I’ve had crappy pliers and screwdrivers that always find their way home, but when I lose rods they’ve had it. Usually a pack of 5 will last me 18 months...

    No substitute for super rods, but I always leave the accessories at my derriere. So now I just pick up a set of 5 reds for 25 quid.

    Knipex installation pliers... Are they worth the money?

    I’ve had them 3 or 4 years and although there good, I don’t think there a necessary buy. But to each their own. I like pliers and croppers separate.

    Dewalt or Milwaukee tools

    Always used dewalt never any bother, but could never get the jigsaw blades to stay in the chuck, had both jigsaw slide and stick pack same problem. Originaly went for dewalt 14 v because of metal chuck when others were plastic , stuck with them ever since. Most of the top brands are comparable.

    I am not a tool tart just a practical person!

    I can't get on with mine, but there too shiny to give away. The model I have was spring opening with a tab to hold it half closed, tab fell of very quickly and found spring a pain in the bum so removed it. There okay but still prefer pliers and croppers.

    I bought one recently, having previously scorned spending that much on a toolbag. They really are heavy duty. Recent jump in price has put me off trading up to an xl.     Plasterboard Back boxes 1st fix or 2nd fix

    Appleby all the way, the worst I ever used was knights something or other I like Appleby for the smooth slide I hate the ratcheting ones. And when I've only got room for a side fix and no metal box I shave off the grip part and screw in through the side of the lug. Never found any that come close.

    For light switches, when used with splashback and where there might be more than 1 accessorie between studs I use fastfix, only ever one brand as I've found all others useless. Everything else I use metal boxes. Plastering isn't prevalent up here except with English settlers.locally painters...
